Ugo Pellis (1882-1943) from 1925 to his death researched the Linguistic Atlantis of Italy, travelling
and photographing a less known part of this country and it might be for this reason that it is
the most interesting, even ichnographically speaking, or it might be for the representation of a
country which was still deeply rural.
The photographs that testify this feat are property of the Philological Society of Friuli and count 7.000 negatives, on plates and film. 400 of these images
were taken in Friuli, some of breathtaking beauty, many of these will be exhibited and will be
supported by a surprising catalogue.
